New Employee Benefit Orientation
Congratulations on your employment with the State of Iowa.
Your Personnel Assistant and the DAS benefit staff are available to help you with your benefits questions and concerns as a new employee. An important part of becoming a new employee is becoming familiar with the wide range of benefits available to you.
Two different benefits orientation presentations, specifically geared to new employees, are held four times a month.
| Health and Other insurance Benefits | An overview of the health, dental, flexible spending, life and long term disability benefits available to employees. |
| Introduction to the Retirement Investors' Club (RIC) | A presentation illustrating the features and benefits of the State of Iowa Retirement Investors' Club (RIC) (deferred compensation program.) |
lf you are a new employee, please make arrangements to attend these presentations as soon as possible. For the health, dental and flexible spending plans, you must enroll within the first 30 days of employment. Failure to enroll within the initial 30 day enrollment period will result in a waiver of these benefits until the next enrollment and change period, unless you experience a qualified life event which may allow enrollments or changes to these plans.
