SERIES CONCEPT

 

Employees in this series prepare and cook food, or lead others and participate in the preparation and cooking of food.

 

EXCLUSIONS

 

Positions assigned baking and other food preparation tasks should be classified in an appropriate series, e.g., Baker,  Ingredient Room Worker or Food Service Worker.

 

CLASS DISTINCTIONS

 

Cook 1

 

Employees perform quantity food production activities related to the preparation of meals at a state facility.

 

Cook 2

 

Employees in this class lead Cooks, Ingredient Room Workers, Food Service Workers, volunteers, inmates or state facility residents in the preparation of meals.
