SERIES CONCEPT

 

Positions lead or supervise Compliance Officers and/or Health Facilities Surveyors through training of staff and the coordination and implementation of programs to evaluate conformance with state and federal requirements by health care facilities and providers.  Employees monitor or supervise staff who observe and review the care and service provided to residents of health care facilities and other health care consumers.

 

EXCLUSIONS

 

Positions observing, monitoring and surveying the operations of health care facilities or providers are classified as Health Facilities Surveyors or Compliance Officers, depending on the type of assignment.  Positions assigned investigation of health care professionals are classified in the Health Professions Investigator class.

 

CLASS DISTINCTIONS

 

Health Facilities Survey Supervisor (04523)

This position supervises Health Facilities Surveyors in the Department of Public Health who survey health care facilities and providers to ensure conformance with federal and state rules and regulations.   The position provides department management with information in determining additional program needs and revision of licensure standards, as well as technical assistance to independent care provider agencies.

 

Health Facilities Officer 1 (04524)

Positions plan and coordinate federal certification and state licensing programs, overseeing a staff of Health Facilities Surveyors, Compliance Officers and others in conducting surveys, observations, monetary remedies and quality assurance.  Positions are non-supervisory, but perform leadwork duties.

 

Health Facilities Officer 2 (04525)

Positions manage the certification or licensure of health care facilities and health care providers. Responsibilities include penalty and remedial actions, including withdrawal of certification or licensure.  Employees develop policy, oversee budget and exercise full supervision of staff including Health Facilities Surveyors and Compliance Officers.
