SERIES CONCEPT

 

Employees in this series prepare and provide ingredients or prepare and provide ingredients and lead others in volume cooking at a state facility.

 

EXCLUSIONS

 

Employees involved in the preparation of food, other than preparation of ingredients should be classified in the Cook, Food Service Worker or Baker series.

 

CLASS DISTINCTIONS

 

Ingredient Room Worker 1

 

Employees weigh, measure and deliver ingredients for volume cooking and special diets; receives, inspects and stores foodstuffs and keeps the work area clean.  Employees frequently lift, move or carry heavy objects.

 

Ingredient Room Worker 2

 

Employees lead Ingredient Room Workers, Food Service Workers, volunteers, inmates or residents in the preparation of food.  Requisitions foodstuffs, receives, inspects and stores merchandise and maintains inventory.
