Hiring Resources

Hiring is one of the major functions of human resource management. Most supervisors and employees have a basic idea what is involved and, if not continually exposed to it through frequent turnover, have experienced at least one hiring situation. Numerous resources have been developed about the hiring process over the years for State of Iowa managers and supervisors, most notable among them, Chapter 4 of the Managers and Supervisors Manual and the Applicant Screening Manual. Both provide a backdrop describing the why’s and wherefore’s of the process.

Some excellent training resources have been developed for the application system. They have been included here to show how well they fit into the overall workforce planning process.
